What is artisanal mezcal?
It is one of the three mezcal categories recognized by the Mexican standard NOM-070. It is made with traditional methods: the agave hearts are roasted in an earthen pit oven, crushed with a tahona or by hand, fermented naturally and distilled in copper or clay stills. Canto de Lobo is a certified artisanal mezcal.
What does 100% maguey espadín mean?
That our mezcal is made only from Agave angustifolia, known as espadín, without other agaves or added sugars. Each plant grows for seven to ten years in Santa María Albarradas before it is harvested.
How do you drink mezcal?
Traditionally neat, at room temperature, in small sips to enjoy the aromas. It also shines in cocktails: try a Mezcal Paloma, a Margarita or a Negroni.

Do you work with bars and restaurants?
Yes. Bartenders, beverage directors and restaurateurs can request a tasting or a trade sheet through the form on our home page.
Why do you ask for my age?
You must be 21 or older to visit this site and to purchase alcohol in the United States. Please enjoy responsibly.
How should I store the bottle?
Upright, tightly closed, in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Unlike wine, mezcal does not evolve in the bottle: it stays stable for a long time when kept closed.
